For those who use the "custom CID method" with a CID programmable SD card "Samsung" or "Chinese" : 

Here is a Ktag 7.020 SD card image identical to that of post 1, but I re-encrypted it with a much easier CID.
I did not generate this file with a manual solution, but with my own script.
Thanks to svvag2000 for the original image !

1) You just need to change your SD card CID to : 123456789ABCDEF123456789ABCDEF00
(For Samsung evo SD card : With "evoplus_cid" or "mmc32" under Linux or Android, with super user privileges).
(For China SD card : With the specific Chinese software).

2) Write this SD card image to your SD card with "ImageUSB" or "Win32 Disk Imager"

Hey guys. I've been a code monkey for decades now, and a shade tree mechanic on the weekends for a hobby for the same time. So, I'm versed in software in general; but there seems to be so many types of software these days, I'm at a loss. Back in the day, all you needed was Microcat or the GM EPC in your garage computer and you were a local legend. Now, you're just left behind.

So, as a guy who just wrenches on his own fleet of GM/toyota vehicles and his friends vehicles, what are some good pieces of software to add to my garage PC? Any hardware hacks for the tech 2 or similar? Thanks for any help.
